The pediatric nebulizer oxyphone was invented by an ER doctor who has seen children

nebulizer kit oxyphone looks like a telephone, and plays music through the earpiece. It
is an object most children know, and like to play with. Simply hook the nebulizer up to the musical phone attachment, place it up to their ear and start the nebulizer machine. Medicated mist flows gently out of the respiratory device to the child's mouth and nose which can be inhaled without fear.

USE UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION
The nebulizer oxyphone uses the same blow-by technique used in the ER to give breathing
treatments to frightened children. One must have a home nebulizer machine (compressor) and medication prescribed by the
doctor. Attach the pediatric nebulizer with the medication to the compressor, insert it into
the rotating connector on the oxyphone , turn on the music and then the compressor.
Most children are much happier during their treatments with this respiratory aid oxyphone. They get
their medicine and you get peace of mind.
The pediatric nebulizer oxyphone (Wired Version) of the oxyPhone simply plugs into a personal music device so the youngster can listen to a favorite CD or MP3 songs during treatment. The respiratory device is shaped like a phone, and even the youngest child generally knows to use it. The mouthpiece is attached to a nebulizer musical phone with a tube that can attach to any standard air compressor or oxygen source, while the earpiece plays soothing music.

How to use Oxyphone :
1.
| Fill the nebulizer with the medicine prescribed by doctor and attach attach the hose to the nebulizer machine. |
2.
| Attach the nebulizer kit to the connector on the pediatric nebulizer oxyphone. |
3.
| Plug the cord into the headphone connection on your personal music device. |
4.

Turn on the music and adjust the volume. Remember, the nebulizer makes a lot of noise. Adjust as necessary. |
5.
| Give the pediatric nebulizer oxyphone to the child or hold it up to her ear. Allow her to get used to it if this is the first time. |
6.
| Turn on the nebulizer machine. One will see the flow of mist from the mouthpiece. Be sure to aim the mist toward the mouth and nose region to be inhaled. |

| If the mist does not flow towards the mouth and nose, angle the Oxyphone nebulizer away from the ear a little ways to see if that helps. The music should still be heard by child and can adjust the volume if needed. |

| If the child is laying flat on her back, the nebulizer kit may not work. Raise the head slightly and retry. An adult should monitor the treatment to make sure the child is breathing in the medicine. |

A good treatment plan will let the child enjoy school, play sports and other activities without so much anxiety. The respiratory aid oxyphone can be part of this plan by making it easier to give the medicine the child needs for his asthma. Inhalation through the mouth delivers a greater percentage of medication to the lungs than when inhaled through the nasal passages. If child can use the mask or mouthpiece, those are the best way to give her treatments. Cleaning the Oxyphone
Clean the respiratory device oxyphone with baby wipes, a damp soapy cloth followed by a clean damp
cloth, or any wipes or similar product that is safe for use around children. Be sure
to wipe the inside of the plastic connector where the medicine comes out.
Do NOT spray cleaner into the earpiece or put the pediatric nebulizer oxyphone in water as it will
damage the speaker
Note:
The rotating connector on the pediatric nebulizer oxyphone is designed to fit a Westmed VixOne™
nebulizer (included.) The child can lay down with the oxyphone mouthpiece angled
up 45 degrees.
Most other nebulizers have slightly different sizes. If the one you have is too
small, put a piece of tape around the neck of the nebulizer so it will fit snugly into
the oxyphone.
